The Grade 1 educators were very excited to host a Homework Support Workshop for our parents this term. This workshop took place on the 25th of February 2017, early Saturday morning in our school hall. It was hosted by Ms Smith, Ms Mercuur and Ms Jantjies.
Grade 1 being such a big adjustment coming from Grade R, we decided that it is important to make parents aware HOMEWORK. We wanted to make it clear that their role in doing homework with their child is crucial.
Our parents received strategies and ideas to make homework fun for their kids and themselves. Parents were placed in groups where they did practical exercises and enjoyed a few games based on Mathematics and English.
The workshop was well attended and our parents showed their full support and participated actively. Both teachers and parents enjoyed and eventful morning with a lot of knowledgeable ideas, good questions and lots of fun.
